"Sepulchres Way"
Vetulonia is now a lovely village, overlooking the vast plain of Grosseto. Visitors, it means walking the streets of a medieval town, offering, at the top, a breathtaking view. Really interesting is the path of "Sepulcres Way", where you can admire the testimony of ancient Etruscan civilizations that have lived over the centuries, whose history still fascinates us.
This path brings to the most important monumental tombs: Tomb of Pietrera and Diavolino 2. Etruscan tombs are rectangular chambers and a long stone corridor access with two contrasting small cells, the structure was covered by a pseudo dome supported by a central pillar surmounted by a mound of earth. Continuing you can see several mounds that are not yet explored, due to the vastness of the ancient Etruscan necropolis.
