Archeological Park of Vetulonia
On the hills, 23km from the medieval village of Castiglione della Pescaia.
The archaeological Vetulonia Park is close to the medieval village. In the Street of Tombs are still well preserved monumental tombs and the covered "tholos" Tomb and the Tomb of Pietrera Diavolino. Near the center, the main road is clearly visible the ancient cobbled street flanked by pavements, sewerage and traces of Roman shops and houses. In town, on the lake Prile, cyclopean walls are clearly visible now nestled among other Medicean walls next to the church Our Lady of Grace. In Vetulonia is a very important “Isidoro Falchi”museum, advanced for the rare finds of gold and bronze of Etruscan and Roman origins, including the accessibility of the structure, no architectural barriers and paths for the blind, open all year. On Aurelia (SS1-E80) take exit Montepescali/Braccagni. Turn left on Via Aurelia Sud ,SP152 and again on left Via dei Garibaldini/SP72. Go over the railway crossing and after about 5 km, at the intersection, continue in the same direction on the municipal road Vetulonia Cirilli-SP72. Castiglione della Pescaia.
